In the Urban Priestess Mystery School, the WILD WOMAN is the archetype who initiates the Wheel of the Priestess in the zodiac house of Leo.
Leo is the 5th house of the zodiac wheel. When you think of Leo, think of the Sun – bright, shiny, warm, attractive, generous, fiery, passionate, creative, confident and cheerful.
Leos are ruled by the Sun and considered the most masculine and the most generous sign in the zodiac. They have presence, charisma, are often dramatic, confident, dominant and natural-born leaders. They love life and expect to have a good time. Like other fire signs, Sagittarius and Aries – Leos are able to use their mind to solve even the most difficult problems. They are determined and optimistic and can often achieve anything they want.
Leos shine brightly – they seem to have an infinite source of energy. They are energetic and carry a positivity that is contagious. They see the world as “glass half full” and don’t easily get disheartened by disappointments and setbacks. With the courage of the Lion, they will always try to come out on top. They do not hold onto grudges or negative emotions for long. They move on quickly.
The house of Leo is represented by the Wild Woman, children, wildness, dating, romance, procreation, creative expression, hobbies, and the lion-hearted abode of your Being.
The Wild Woman is the lioness with a warm, generous nature and adventurous heart.

The new moon is in Leo at 2:46am PDT on July 23rd.
The New Moon is when the Sun and Moon are aligned, with the Sun and Earth on opposite sides of the Moon. This leaves the side of the Moon facing the Earth in complete darkness, which is why we can not see the New Moon.
Setting New Moon Intentions
Acknowledging the New Moon in its cycle is one way that you can connect more closely with the rhythm of nature – which allows you to attune more closely to your own intuition. The beginning of the Moon Cycle is an invitation to start fresh, call in intentions, and set the tone as you prepare for the energy of the coming weeks.
The journey of an Urban Priestess is about getting really clear on your deepest desires, so that you can powerfully voice your truth and manifest your dreams.
Set aside time at each New Moon to clear your slate and start fresh with a new list of intentions for the coming Moon Cycle.
Create a Sacred Space. Create an altar for the New Moon to symbolize the energy. Find a space in your home that is
dedicated to cultivating your spiritual practices.
For the Leo New Moon, find images and objects that represent the Wild Woman to you.
- Use colored cloths of rich gold and colors of the Sun.
- Decorate with flowers of the Sun, like Sunflowers, Calendula and Poppies..
- Objects that represent your personal connection to the Wild Woman
Remember that the most important thing in building an altar or creating a ritual is that the objects are meaningful to you and hold symbolic power for you. Trust your intuition.
Write Your List. Allow yourself time to drop in before you begin. Try a few minutes of meditation or breath work to focus and clear.
Open your journal to a new page to symbolize fresh start. Make a list of 10 or less intentions for this new moon.
Dream big as you generate this list, and write using “I am” statements. Close with another short meditation or prayer and keep your list close as you move through this Moon Cycle.
The most potent time for manifestation is the 48 hours once the new moon begins, so it is best to get in the habit of setting your intentions within those first 2 days.
